⚡ Since electricity prices moved to 15-minute periods, Smart Energy could switch your heat pump between modes every quarter of an hour. This update lets you calm that down. It also makes it quicker to get help and fills in data that MELCloud Home never reported.
Smart Energy: fewer mode switches
Custom mode has a new setting: Start a cheap or expensive period at most once every 15 to 120 minutes. Within that time, each mode switches on and off at most once, and Smart Energy still picks the periods that save the most. The default stays at 15 minutes, so nothing changes unless you choose a longer time. The price chart previews the result, and the “How it works” dialog explains it with examples.
You’ll find it in Device Settings → Smart Energy → Custom.
What else is new
- Answers before you wait. When you click Send on a support ticket, MelPump first suggests FAQ answers that match your message. If one of them solves the problem, your message isn’t sent.
- Clearer tickets. Each ticket shows whether it’s Open, Answered or Closed. While you wait, you can edit your message instead of sending another one, and you can close the ticket yourself once the problem is solved.
- MELCloud Home. MelPump now fills in what MELCloud Home doesn’t report: the outdoor temperature (from the weather forecast), the compressor status and hot water heating. Hot water heating is now also detected on some Planet Devices heat pumps, such as Kaisai.
- Custom tariffs worldwide. Custom tariffs now work in 36 more countries outside Europe, with currencies such as NZD, AUD and JPY. The editor now starts with the currency you’re billed in.
Smaller improvements and fixes
- Unsaved changes. If you leave a page with unsaved edits, MelPump asks whether to save or discard them.
- Charts and cards. Dragging across the weather chart scrolls the hourly strip to that hour. Compressor Health and Operation Split now show the period they cover.
- Schedules. A scheduled temperature change now applies right away while an automation is on, unless the automation is adjusting that same value.
- Fixes. Refresh now reconnects an integration that was switched off. The AC vane card fits on phones, and Safari is more stable.
- Wi-Fi adapter. Setup accepts serial numbers typed in capital letters. Orders shipped to the EU now go through our partner by email.
