🤖 You can now connect AI assistants such as Claude or ChatGPT to your MelPump account and ask them about your heat pump in plain language. The assistant reads your data through our new MCP server, analyses it and explains what is going on: no exporting, no spreadsheets.
What you can ask
- “Why did my heat pump use more energy last week than the week before?”
- “What was my COP for heating and for hot water this month?”
- “Show my flow and return temperatures over the last 24 hours. Is anything unusual?”
- “What is controlling my heat pump right now: schedules, Solar Mode or Smart Energy?”
- “Which alarms did my heat pump raise this month?”
The assistant can see your devices, current readings, recorded history, energy usage, the weather forecast, alarm history, the history of commands sent to the heat pump (including automatic ones) and your schedules.
Read-only and under your control
- Read-only: the assistant cannot change settings, control your heat pump or acknowledge alarms.
- You decide: you sign in to MelPump yourself and approve access on a consent screen that shows which app is asking.
- Only your devices: the assistant sees only the devices you own or that are shared with you.
- Revoke anytime: Account Settings → API & apps → Remove access.
How to connect
- Copy the MelPump server address: https://melpump.com/mcp (you will also find it in Account Settings → API & apps).
- In your AI assistant, add it as a custom connector (MCP server):
- Claude (web and desktop): Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, then paste the address.
- ChatGPT: Settings → Apps & Connectors. Custom connectors may require Developer mode, which you turn on under Advanced settings. Create a new connector, paste the address and choose OAuth.
- Other apps that support MCP (Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Gemini CLI…): add a remote MCP server (Streamable HTTP) with this address.
- Menu names differ between apps, versions and plans. Look for “custom connector”, “MCP server” or “Add server”.
- The assistant opens the MelPump sign-in page. Log in and click Allow read-only access.
- Turn the connector on in a chat and ask away. Tip: start with “List my heat pumps” so the assistant picks the right device.
Analysing device data requires an active subscription for that device.
